John B Fairfax, AO – President

John B Fairfax, AO - PresidentJohn Fairfax was a director of Fairfax Media from 2007 to 2010 after serving as Chairman of Rural Press since 1990. He began his career in 1961 as a cadet journalist at The Sydney Morning Herald and worked in management positions throughout Fairfax before joining the board in 1979. He is a Director of Marinya Capital Pty Limited, Patron of The Red Room Company Ltd and was Chairman of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation 2008-2012.

Cam Smith – Chairman

Cam Smith - ChairmanCam is a Private Client Advisor with RBS Morgans, following a career in senior management of consumer goods manufacturing businesses in Australia and overseas. He was Managing Director and CEO for 8 years in Sydney prior to joining the financial services industry. Cam has served on a number of boards, including a state confederation of industry advisory board and TAFE. Cam joined the Board of the Brigade in 1995. After serving as a Director and Company Secretary for 14 years Cam took on the role of Chairman in 2009.

Michael Forsdick – Treasurer

Michael Forsdick – TreasurerMichael is an Oxford University graduate with a Masters in Botany, a retired Chartered Accountant and former partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialised in personal tax. He is currently on the Board of Fauna and Flora International Australia and joined the Board of The Girls & Boys Brigade in 2013.

Fiona Archer

Fiona ArcherFiona is a Director at JBWere Wealth Management and has spent the last 27 years in the financial services sector. She is on the Advisory Committee to the Sydney Women’s Fund and the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal Committee. Fiona was appointed to the Board of the GBB at the commencement of 2011.

Kylie Macdonald

Kylie MacdonaldKylie has over 20 years‘ experience in the finance sector providing individual and corporate clients with advice in direct equity investment. She has served on various Not-for-Profit boards since 2001 and has a keen interest in promoting the engagement of children and their families in active philanthropy strategies.

Ruth Armytage, AM

Ruth Armytage, AMRuth joined the Board of the GBB in 1990. She was formerly an early childhood educator and teacher. Ruth has been on other not for profit Boards which have focussed on early intervention, young children and youth.

Graham Bates

Graham BatesGraham joined the Board of the GBB in 1987 and is a former legal consultant with King & Wood Mallesons.

Henry Herron

Henry HerronHenry joined the Board of the GBB in 2004 and since 2009 has been Company Secretary. Henry is a former Special Counsel with Clayton Utz.

Paul Masi

Paul MasiPaul Masi is a non Executive Director of SHAW Stockbroking Ltd and a Director of Cerebral Palsy Alliance. He is the former Country Head and Chief Executive Officer of Merrill Lynch in Australia. Paul is the former CEO of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Australia. Since 1995, Paul has sat on several Australian Stock Exchange committees, including the Rules Committee, The National Adjudicatory Tribunal and the Appeals Tribunal. Paul is a past attendee of the Brigade.

Paul Strutt

Paul StruttPaul joined the Board in May 2015. He was a former Director and Treasurer for ING Bank NV in Australia with 30 years’ experience in the Financial Markets.
